2025/2026 Zimmerman Thunder JO Volleyball

Registration is OPEN

 

Tryouts are Sunday, November 16th

Ages 13-18: 10am-12:30pm

Ages 10-12: 1:30pm-3pm

Location: Zimmerman High School Varsity Gym

Age 12 & under = Born on/after July 1st, 2013

Please note: spectators are NOT allowed in the gym during this time, this includes parents/guardians and siblings

**Must be registered online, paid in full and bring fundraiser commitment check to tryouts**

 

Zimmerman Thunder JO Volleyball is open to 3rd – 12th grade girls in the Zimmerman area

Before Tryouts:

Complete Zimmerman Thunder JO Volleyball registration/payment:

  • Each player must be registered by November 9th > Registration
  • ZTJOVB fee must be paid in full by November 9th
    • Payment during online registration via PayPal or Credit/Debit card

**Players will not be able to tryout unless full payment is made before tryouts**

 

NCR Membership - Each player must be a member of NCR to participate for the season including tryouts, practices, games and tournaments.  (JO Board will register each player)

  • Ages 10 & under: 25-26 NCR Junior 11U and Under ($20 non-refundable)
  • Ages 11-18: 25-26 NCR ($65 non-refundable)

 

Costs (including non-refundable NCR fee):

10s and under: ZTJVB fee $170 (includes 1 pesonalized jersey) + $150 fundraiser commitment

11-12s: ZTJVB fee $385 (includes 1 personalized jersey) + $150 fundraiser commitment

13s-17s: ZTJVB fee $400 (includes 2 personalized jerseys) + $150 fundraiser commitment

18s: ZTJVB fee $400 (includes 2 personalized jerseys) + $150 fundraiser commitment

 

*$150 Fundraiser Commitment Check is required for each player

  • Written to: Zimmerman Volleyball Boosters
  • JO Board will hold until all fundraisers are complete
  • Check will be cashed only if fundraiser minimum is not met by individual player
  • Check will be shredded if minimum is met

 

Items to Bring to Tryouts:

  • Medical Release Form completed
  • $150 Fundraiser Commitment Check written to: Zimmerman Volleyball Boosters
  • Tennis shoes, knee pads and a leak proof water bottle

*Jersey samples will be available for players to try on before/after tryout session. This is HIGHLY recommended, once jersey orders are placed they cannot be changed

**Fall fundraiser information will be handed out

 

Teams will be announced on our website during Thanksgiving Break - along with introductions of coaches, practice times and tournament/playdates

**Once teams are announced, each player will have 48 hours to request a refund for ZTJOVB and Fundraiser Commitment Check (excluding nonrefundable NCR) if they decide to not play for any reason

 

Season Overview

Practice - Practice dates/times will be confirmed after tryouts

  • Begin early December continuing into March/April
  • Practices will be 1 night per week up to 2 hours Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays after 5pm
    • 16s and up may practice for 2-3 hours 1 night a week depending on gym availability 

*If school is canceled due to weather, there will be no practice

**Canceled practices (for any reason) are not guaranteed to be made up due to limited gym space/time. However, we will do our best to utilize our available space/times for make ups

 

Tournaments/Play Dates

  • Dependent on age level and availability, playing up to 5 tournaments & 1 Playdate
  • 10s & under up to 4 Playdates & 1 tournament
  • Start in January in surrounding areas including Metro & St. Cloud areas (teams may travel further)

Team Communication

  • Every team will be using SportsYou for communication during the season
  • Parents and Players will all be added to their team
  • Download the app on your phone 

*We are in need of a volunteer from each team to become a "Team Parent/Spokesperson" to assist coaches & team with tournaments/bonding activities/questions/injuries/officiating/score table/etc... as well as communicating any issues/concerns/questions to the board. There will be an end of season kickback of $50

Online Officiating Required

All players and coaches must complete all modules by January 1st, 2026 otherwise that player/coach cannot be present at the tournaments.

*Courses will open up in December - you will be notified via email once open

All Officiating Certifications are valid for one season and must be completed annually.

WARNING: this training can take several hours to complete so do not wait until the night before to complete it.
